Can a photobooth create a shared virtual world?
The Launch Event
Urban Outfitters approached Sonic Platforms to create a memorable launch for a collaborative Champion capsule—original video and animation content paired with a live event experience at Space 98 in Williamsburg.
The collection brought together Wood Wood, Craig Green, and Timo Weiland for Urban Outfitters and Champion. We designed, produced, and installed all the content for the installation and interactive experience.
Real-time 3D photobooth
At the event, guests stepped into a real-time 3D photobooth—scanned on site and imported live into a shared virtual environment.
A Structure Sensor fed a custom import pipeline into a Unity engine built with Arcadia—so each guest could move from scan to a communal virtual environment without leaving the event floor, at a time when live volumetric capture was still rare in retail activations.
