How do we create sustainable habitats for creatures to thrive?
Why we built it
Meta wanted to lead in educational content and use mixed reality to show what the platform could do. Dino Hab was conceived as a game about sustainability and animal welfare: players care for creatures, restore habitats, and learn that choices carry consequence.
The design challenge was making those values part of the mechanic—something players discover through play rather than receive as instruction. From the start, my job was keeping that intent intact while helping the studios find the fun.
Mixed reality at room scale
The game maps to your physical space—furniture, walls, floor—so dinosaurs appear at true scale beside where you actually sit. Sharing your room with a T-Rex hits different.
The Mission
Players join the Paleoguard to raise dinosaurs, build habitats, and weather environmental disruption—storms, eruptions, shifting ecosystems. The game loop centers on stewardship: what you build and maintain matters more than what you accumulate.
My role
I led executive production and creative strategy between Meta and Dark Slope / 30 Ninjas—through prototyping, development, and launch to Quest Store.
